Feel the Presence of Padre Pio

The National Shrine for Padre Pio and Padre Pio Centre is an enriching destination filled with the peace and prayerfulness of Padre Pio’s spirit. With an accurate replica of the Statue of St. Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo positioned in one of our side altars of the Church of St. May of the Angels, our humble Shrine seeks to recall some semblance of the Padre Pio experience in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy. The Shrine offers a number of authentic Padre Pio Relics for public and private veneration and blessing, and a Visitors’ Centre that is filled with cultural and religious materials that are an important source of support for all who desire to grown in their wisdom and understanding of this great Saint. The role that Padre Pio plays in the lives of many believers today is as significant as it was when Padre Pio lived in San Giovanni.

Pray Like Padre Pio Prayed

The celebration of the Eucharist was at the centre and source of the live of Padre Pio, and we are called to participate in Liturgical Prayer and Devotional Prayer at the Shrine of St. Pio.

We are reminded by Padre Pio that a healthy devotional life rooted in the mysteries of redemption and salvation as well as the lives
of the saints provides the spiritual expression and direction that leads us back to celebrate the Church’s Liturgy. Padre Pio’s mission was always in leading souls back to Our Blessed Mother through frequent recitation of The Rosary, and to Her Son Jesus by our prayerful and frequent participation in the Eucharist.

Padre Pio inspired devotional prayers and a novena dedicated to our Blessed Mother and to Jesus,  and we are now called to imitate these prayerful practices in our quest to pray like Padre Pio prayed.

“The earth could exist more easily without the sun than without the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.”

(Padre Pio)

“If we only knew how God regards this Sacrifice, we would risk our lives to be present at a single Mass.”

(Padre Pio)

“As long as you receive Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament every morning, you must consider yourself extremely fortunate.”

(Padre Pio)
